Remember Easter

Easter....I do not express myself eloquently in words, but rather art. Easter is the time of year that I REMEMBER....
Christs' suffering and dying for me
The saving faith that I embrace due to Christs' death and resurrection.

Easter brings thoughts of lilies and I colored this "Lily" Die-namics from MFT in a neat way. I dropped little drops of R21,30 and 85 copic reinkers on a sheet of vellum and then cut out the blooms with the "Lily" die. I did the same for the green parts using YG25 and 95.

The background is embossing the "Modern Morocco" Die-namics on a white card base. The sentiment is using the "Story Titles" Die-namics for the remember portion and the "Easter Bunny" stamp set for the easter sentiment.

I will be taking the weekend on "unplugged" and enjoying the remembrance with  my family.
Wishing you all a Blessed Easter Weekend! See you all next week!

NEW INK!

And does this new ink work with copics you ask?.... YES!
Woohoo!
What ink am I chatting about?
The new Hybrid Ink Pads from My Favorite Things!

This is the awesome "Black Licorice" that I stamped on X-press it blending card. NO NEED to heat set...just give it a few seconds to dry.  Works fabulous with my copic markers! I did her hair yellow on purpose to really put that black ink to the test!

The "Congratulations" sentiment is from the "Beautiful Baby" set released this month and the image is from "Cupcake Cutie".  The background is stamped with the Sno Cone Hybird ink and the "On the Diagonal" background stamp....and the sentiment is in the new Razzleberry Hybrid ink.

I am SOOO excited about another ink option for my copics...the coverage, clarity and detail of this hybrid ink are great!

Speaking of copics.....Be sure to check out my CERTIFICATION DETAILS PAGE...as it is right up to date! Seattle is coming soon!

Release Rewind!

Are you waiting on your MFT goodies for April? Missed the release? HERE is the link to all that is new! Well....here is a little inspiration while you wait! There is more inspiration from the team over on the MFT blog too! Enjoy!

First up are some "Sunny Thoughts".  This new Pure Innocence girl is stamped on X-press it blending card then colored with my copics....a few little notes. Look at the shadow on her face from her umbrella. This is drawn in with BV31. Look also at the shiny street reflection. Remember when coloring in reflections in water that they look best when imperfect and appear to have a bit of movement to them.

The background is totally airbrushed using both the "Cloudy Day" and "Raindrops" stencils.

The smile sentiment is from the other PI release this month "I Pick You"

I used some glossy accents on the umbrella and the ground for the appearance of wet.

Below is the inside....I stamped her again in grapesicle ink, debossed the "Sun, Moon and Stars" Die-namics and added a sweet sentiment.

Next up....a little Bokeh inspiration! This new set called the "Bokeh Builder"  so I used a fun combination of colors for this card. I used the sunshine ray from the "Sun, Moon and Stars" Die-namics to indicate my light.

Below is a look at the inside using another sentiment from "Bokeh Builder".
Here are all the MFT goodies that I used that are available now!

New Product Launch!

The time is here! After a week of being inspired the MFT product launch is here for April! You can find all the new products in the MFT store HERE. You really need to check it out....there is a surprise in there! NEW INK!

I get to spotlight one of the newest Pure Innocence girls....this is "I Pick You"! I stamped her on X-press it blending cardstock and then colored her with my copics :) and used the newest TRANSFORM-ables "Say Hello".

I colored the hello portion with R30 and then backed my paper with a berrylicious cardstock base.

A little look at the inside....I added a sentiment from the set and stamped her in berrylicious ink. All on the other portion of the "Say Hello" TRANSFORM-able Die-namics.

Here is a little different look using the same "I Picked You" stamp set. I stamped her directly on kraft cardstock and colored her with my copics. Using light colors you will still end up with a darker image due to the cardstock color.

For the background I used the new "Cloudy Day" stencil and sponged in some Sweet Tooth ink.

I just adore this little scalloped border piece from the new Blueprints 14 Die-namics....I threaded the holes with the hemp string.

Here is the inside, finishing off the sentiment and using a few more pieces of the Blueprints 14 Die-namics.

Make sure you check out all the Product Launch inspiration over on the MFT  blog!

Time for something simply sweet today.....I love that there are so many ways to use Die-namics! This is the Cloud Cover Up simply embossed instead of cut that makes the background.

New flowers! These are the Gerber Daisies Die-namics that are the gift from MFT if you purchase $60. I made them in a combination of pink cardstocks.

The sweet little border piece is from the Blue-prints 14 Die-namics with some hemp string threaded through.

Below is a look at the inside of the card....using a sentiment from "Blue Skies Ahead" and using the cut version of the Cloud Cover Up Die-namics.

Rain or Shine

It is countdown release time at MFT! Yay! In all my posts this week you will find the products listed at the bottom of the post. Release Day is April 8th 7PM (PST). For all the daily inspiration be sure to check out the MFT blog

HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS....are you ready for something really artsy??????
This is a wall canvas that I created while I had some time to "play" today! Here, in the Pacific Northwest, we get a ton of rain....but there are so many things that are beautiful about the rain.

I started off this canvas by using paint....to paint the white highlight area (in the shape of a raindrop) and then add some paint around the outside in blues, reds, yellows, aquas....etc.

I made my little umbrella with the new "Layered Umbrella" Die-namics and covered it with glossy accents. Placed it on my canvas and then used watercolor to color in the shadow. I stamped the sentiment with the new "Blue Skies Ahead" sentiment in pigment ink and then heat set it.

My last and TOTALLY FUN step was to take my copic reinkers and drip them on the canvas...so cool! I had to totally let go of control on that one! I also went with the new opaque white bottle and drew in a few highlights of drops with that white as well. This worked out so well due to the fact that the alcohol ink sits right on top and doesn't try to blend with the acrylic paint....love that!

I really liked the play of this and it makes a great little interesting art addition to our home.

Shabby style is on deck today showcasing another way to play with the brand new "Layered Umbrella" Die-namics! This sweet umbrella cut from Melissa Frances patterned papers looks great shabby style! The sentiment is also from the new "Blue Skies Ahead" sentiment set.

Since we use umbrellas ALOT here....I can see using this die quite often...lol!

Below is the inside where I debossed the "Layered Umbrella" Die-namics and then stamped another great sentiment!

Today is all about some GIRL POWER! Brand New from the Birdie Brown collection is "You're Super"!

She is sooooo cool! There is also a coordination "You're Super" Die-namics that I cut from X-press it paper. Colored up with my copics.
If you look closely at the coloring you can tell she is backlit by the sun so she has a golden fringe light all the way around her. I also brought some of that yellow into her black hair and boots.

The backdrop is not new for this release but it goes with her SO PERFECTLY that I couldn't resist using it! It is the "Sun Ray" Die-namics. I cut it three times from black licorice, lemon drop and sno cone cardstock. I NESTLED them all inside each other to make a FLAT panel for the background. So....if you haven't had a chance to purchase this Die-namics yet, you may want to consider it for using with this set!

Below is the inside of the card....I stamped the city line from the "You're Super" in sweet tooth pigment ink and then laid one of the "Sun Ray" Die-namics over top....and added one of the AWESOME sentiments from this stamp set!

I have a couple of cards to share today using Lisa Johnson's newest set called "Beautiful Baby"!

This card is unique in the way that I used the coordinating "Beautiful Baby" Die-namics. I laid the large elephant on to my card stock cut side up....so that I would be debossing into my cardstock. This gives a very large letterpress look vs. debossing the cut side which just gives an outline.  You can see how well it presses into the cardstock in the close up photo.

I then cut a little mask with this die and placed it over the elephant and then stamped the new "Star Background" in lemon drop ink.
Here is a look at the inside of the card.....love the sweet tooth pigment ink!

My next card I used a post it not to mask a horizon line across the top third of the card. I stamped both elephants in chocolate brown ink.

The sentiment is in steel blue ink....and the sweet little heart is done in bubblegum ink.

Here is a look at the inside....simple stamping but the elegant font leads to such a classy look! I love that!

A very clean and simple card....but the "Sunflower Sweetheart" image  is so darling it really doesn't need a bunch of embellishment!

My little video (below) will show you how to get that texture in the hat as well as the dress!

The sweet little speech bubble is from the "Smart Phone" Die-namics. It is popped up a little for interest.

Here is the video:
