Foxy Felt Forest!

 Foxy, felt forest....say that quickly!

I always have fun mixing up my paper crafting items with felt and fabrics. Here is a tag made without paper.

The tag is the from the "Pierced Tag STAX" and the tree line is from "Campy Tree Lines".  The adorable fox is from the "Cute Critters" stamp set.

I stamped him with versacraft ink on cotton fabric and colored him up with my copic markers. If you look close you can see how fabric is a little different than paper, the ink wants to bleed and wick quickly!

The glasses and hat are from a Paper Smooches set called "Chubby Chum pals".  Finished off with a little red bead for his nose....

Coloring Day!

A stamp from years is so nice to pull out some of my favorites! This is "Santa's Lap" and I don't believe anyone makes it anymore....a discontinued stamp doesn't mean I can't use it!

I stamped him in natural hybrid ink from My Favorite Things. Colored them up with my copic markers....WAY too many to list!
I then airbrushed the background with E43 and E49.

I used a couple of die cuts to add a little something to the card....first of the "Merry" can you see in the photo to the left how it is inset into the card? The card front is nice and flat. This is the "Christmas Greetings" Die-namics from MFT.

The whole card is cut from the "Mini Album Torn Notebook", the largest size in the stack, from MFT as well.

Below you can see a peek into the inside....once I had cut the "merry" from the front, I just had to use it on the inside.

Make sure you take a peek at all the new classes and copic details! Here was the last newsletter, in case you missed it! See you in Anaheim in January! Yay!

CHA classes and 2015 Copic Locations Announced!

Leaves are falling at our house! It looked like it was snowing leaves yesterday....
This is the inspiration behind todays' project. I used the "Out on a Limb" stamp set and Die-namics to create this clean and simple card.

I wanted to show the detail of the leaves on the ground up close....Just a wee bit of W1 and W3 copic markers added to the "grounding" of my tree .
The leaves falling indicate a season of change....what a great segway into my copic post!

There is change coming by the way of NEW classes being offered in 2015! You will have to read THIS newsletter to get a taste of what is is very exciting!

You can now see all the locations we plan to visit for the upcoming year as well! Classes for CHA are now open and there are a whack of em'! You can find the applications for these classes HERE on the copic website.

Ever had one of these days? Where you just want to say "nuts"?

I have had a few of those.....

This is an adorable set that I received as a gift! Thanks Cindy :)

This is the "Cute Critters" set from MFT. I just used the acorn and immediately thought of the movie Ice Age as that poor little critter was chasing the nuts all movie!

I stamped the acorns masking them off as I went. I then colored them with my copic markers. E50,53 and 34 for the lower half and then E25,47 and 49 for the upper half. The grounding I did with my E41,43 and 44. The background was airbrushed with BG11.

Just in case you are having a "nuts" day....

Welcome Friday! A custom background I have to show you today....

I stamped the background with the "Fine Chevron Background" and versamark ink, embossing with clear detail powder.  I colored my chevron stripes (quite quickly because I wasn't concerned with going over the lines a little) with my copic markers.....V22,BV17,E33,E27

I went over that with an iron and paper bag to remove the embossing powder. I then stamped the leaf from the "Fall Foliage" set. I love how it picked up the pattern but stamped nice and clean.

The sentiment is a Die-namics from the "Words of graditude" set. I embossed a sheet of vellum in gold embossing powder and then die cut the word.

Enjoy your weekend! Next week I am off to Portland to meet with my copic gal pals! Can't wait!

I am back in my studio after a great weekend in Vancouver! Fun Copic Classes!

One of the many techniques that I demonstrate is direct stamp coloring with is an example of that. First up I debossed the tree branch portion with the "Out on a Limb" Die-namics and then I colored up the stamps of both the leaves and the tree with my copic markers....they dry super fast.....

To reactivate the copic ink, I simply spritzed with blender solution from a mister bottle and then quickly stamped with the "out on a limb" stamp set from MFT.  I love the imperfect, impressionistic look that this renders :)

I used YG21,25, Y15, R02,05 for the leaves. Then I airbrushed some YG01 and BG11 in the background. Simple and pretty:)

Be sure to check out when copic classes and workshops are coming to your area! You can see the details on my updated copic page HERE.....Next up for me....Portland! Yay! Hope to see you there!

Goldberg Inspiration!

Happy Friday! Did anyone catch the new "Goldberg's" this week?

As a child of the 80's it is on our PVR "must watch" list....what a hoot! If you didn't, you really should and then you would totally get the inspiration behind this card....

First up, I airbrushed the background with my copic BG72 and my "On the Diagonal" stencil from MFT.

The cassette itself is a combo of stamps and dies. It is the Cassette Die-namics paired up with the "Playlist" stamp set from MFT. It is an 80's theme...but I made it modern with the colors.

I have been doing a lot of traveling and Copic certification and workshop teaching (which is why it has been quiet on my blog). Looking forward to more crafting time nearer to the end of October.

Are you looking for a class? The LAST CLASSES of 2014 are up on my Copic Details page and you can also find them on the COPIC site. I am heading to my stomping grounds in Vancouver next weekend! Hope to see you there :)
